The Travelling Gene

Here I am sitting in my bedroom, haven't been 'home' for more than two weeks from Egypt, and I am surprised at just how much I miss travelling. Already I am thinking about my next trip during half term which is approximately in four weeks time and I am contemplating whether to go to Scotland (a trip which I have already booked) or to move it to August and explore more of England. Then during Summer I will be off exploring Eastern Europe for about a month where I will be visiting thirteen countries. Spain and Greece are also on the cards later in the year, that I know for sure, whether it will be for a few days or a few weeks!

One of my friend has called me the 'seasonal traveller'. I guess it is turning out to be true- I just love packing my bags and getting my passport ready for that next stamp! I am going to see as much as I can while I am here. After all who wouldn't after seeing views like this?

Swiss Alps, Geneva.

Somewhere in the Country...Ireland

The Cliffs of Moher, Ireland

Living the hard life in Dahab, Egypt.

Despite all these travelling plans, I am looking forward to returning to my home down south (this is not to say I won't travel after I return home). After being in Egypt and seeing the sun again, I realise how lucky we are in Australia. Not only do we have good weather, but we also have a good selection of fresh food. Oh how I am looking forward to walking into a store and having that option of choosing fresh, juicy fruit! I never thought I would say this, but I miss my school. Being a permanent teacher in Australia has great advantages and I am not that far off from getting Long Service Leave.

Anyhow, it will be about another eight months before I return to Australia. So now my focus will be on travelling and meeting more people along the way. I have formed some close friendships already and looking forward to making many more.

Awesome travel shots. I COMPLETELY agree with you about how travel makes you appreciate what you have at home though.

We too had the travel bug. You will love Eastern and Central Europe. I still haven't blogged about our 5 weeks - slack I know but make sure you include Slovenia - that place rocks and easy trip down into Italy.

We want to hear some work stories too
